An Amazing 1950s Ceil Chapman Satin Cocktail Dress
When it comes to party and cocktail dresses, vintage rules. There are plenty of lovely new ones on the market. It’s not really an either-or, but with vintage, you can find some unique and gorgeous ones that are fun and come in distinct silhouettes and colors.
Case in point, this 1950s Ceil Chapman. It’s a gorgeous and very flattering off-the-shoulder dress in amazing condition. It’s unbelievable how vibrant the color still is. The color is luscious–a deep raspberry pink. It has the molding of fabric across the torso that is typical of a Ceil Chapman from this period.
This would be gorgeous no matter when it was made and designed. It’s just a fantastic cocktail dress, period. The fact that it is vintage basically guarantees that no one else at the party will have anything like this. Trust me–people will ask you where you got it and will be jealous that it’s vintage and one of a kind.
It’s also one of those dresses that you will love having in your closet and grab when you’re looking for something for a wedding or a party. You can also dress it down by adding opaque tights and maybe a denim or motorcycle jacket over it. It’s hard to find pieces like these unless you look at higher-end designer ones (along with their prices).
The hems are hand-finished and there is boning all around the bodice of the dress so it fits nicely.

Excellent Condition; there are some spots where the fabric is slightly worn, but you have to look closely to see them. Please email me if you would like to see more detailed photos.
