Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche 1980s Bow Jewel-Toned Bow Blouse
I am slightly obsessed with pussy bow blouses. And in my opinion, Yves Saint Laurent bow blouses are the most beautiful and luxurious (both the modern and the vintage ones). Buying vintage is a great way to get these into your wardrobe. Besides being sustainable, the vintage YSL blouses can come in some super pretty and playful colors and patterns (and they are a lot less expensive than the new ones you can currently buy, though I do love those, too).
Case in point, this jewel-toned blue and green polka dot patterned one. Based on the label, this blouse is most likely from the 1980s. The sleeves are nice and full and the tie at the top can be tied like a bow, loosely tied, or left completely open. I like it because it’s a classic style, but the colors are unexpected. At the same time, I would treat it as neutral–it could go with anything from grey jeans to a pinstripe blazer. The buttons on the cuffs of the sleeves are jeweled.
Condition: Excellent condition. One note: The top of the jeweled button on the right sleeve is missing (see last picture) BUT there is an extra, pristine button sewn into the bottom hem (I swear, they don’t make them like vintage). I have left it as-is you can switch the button out if you like.
Measurements:
Labeled French Size 36, Small/Medium.
Shoulder to end of sleeve: approximately: 24 inches
Shoulder to shoulder: approximately: 15 inches
Length: approximately: 23 1/2 inches
Chest: approximately: 18 inches
Note on Last Photo:
Image of the tear sheet that I’ve held onto for over 10 years!
