Gorgeous 2016 'Electra' Roland Mouret Strapless Cocktail Dress
Origin Story:
The dress, called ‘Electra, was worn by several celebrities including Mila Kunis, America Ferrera, and Reese Witherspoon. It is almost identical to a Roland Mouret dress worn by Jennifer Lopez in June 2014 when Vanity Fair named her one of the Best Dressed Stars of the Week.
I had ripped out a picture of Jennifer Lopez wearing her dress (‘Cicada’) from a magazine in 2014 and put it on my mood board. I can’t quite remember, but I think that particular dress was sold out at that point, but I was hoping somehow I would find it in the future. Then, lo and behold, in 2016 Roland Mouret released an exclusive version of a very similar dress for Net-A-Porter and that’s when I purchased it. Jennifer’s was a hot pink and this dress is a fuchsia color.
Description: Strapless dress in a saturated, fuchsia color. It hugs in all of the right places and accentuates your figure-typical of a Mouret.
‘Electra’ is made from wool-crepe and has a nipped-in waist and darts at the hips. It has his signature origami fold at the top and an exposed zipper in the back. Inside it is 100% silk.
